    The principle is exactely the same however the build in flash does not always perform optiamlly and throws around extra or too low light! So if you want to stay in control you wil have to work with your flash exposure compensation (that is the intensity if the flash control) in sync with the shutter!

    At 5:04, the photo came out black..

    now, ignoring the flash… is it black cuz of F18?

    Thanks Mark. I have been buying and reading tons of books but could not get what u were saying. The demo helped bring it home. I am just learning. This is my first camera. I have a Canon Powershot si10. It has a removable lens and I bought a tripod. The manual is not that great.
